Accessorise, accessorise, accessorise
We all know that accessories can make or break an outfit and for me they’re the most fun part to shop for – after all who doesn’t like shoes and bags?
You can transform a simple outfit into something glamorous with the simple use of a few key pieces.
Jewellery can help liven things up, adding much needed glamour and glitz to an evening look whilst earthy pieces – beaded necklaces, bangles and simple earrings are best for a daytime look. Try not to overdo it by focusing on one area, e.g. a statement necklace, bold bangles or flamboyant earrings.
Shoes are key pieces too – as any budding Carrie Bradshaw’s out there will know. A few key pairs will keep you going – cute flats, black boots, a pair of killer heels and some summery sandals such as wedges will make up the basics and you can get a huge array of colours these days, so treat your feet and make them look pretty!
Bags are pretty essential on the accessories list and if you’re anything like me then you’ll need an assortment to see you through the week.
There is of course the obligatory ‘work’ bags which is generally bigger than your going out bags because you simply need to fit more things in. That doesn’t mean it has to be dull though – there are loads of great oversized bags and tote bags that look great and are practical too. A classic leather tote bag will serve you well. For going out bags, a variety of simple clutches and over the body bags will serve for most occasions. Black, silver, gold and nude colours are all interchangeable with most outfits.
The best thing about accessories is that they can be massively inexpensive which means you can have more of them! Variety is the spice of life so adding to your collections is the way forward, you can pick up many of the latest trends on the high street and from online shops too, so get shopping to brighten up your outfit.
