What are some uses for non-jewelry grade tumbled rocks?
I recently finished a group of rocks in my tumbler and don’t know what to do with them. Most aren’t gemstones and came from the stream near my house. They look really cool, but I think they would look weird in jewelry because they are rather large/not exactly good colors for jewelry. So what would be a good use for them?
Should I Buy the Rings Together or Separate? How will I Ever Make this Big Decision?
Lets get down to basics. An engagement ring wedding band set consists of the central engagement ring and a coordinating wedding band. Not too difficult to comprehend, huh? However, one of the key decisions you may be faced with when ring shopping is whether to buy the engagement ring in isolation or as part of a coordinated set. There are pros and cons to each approach.
One of the nice things about buying the engagement ring in isolation is that you save yourself some money up front…. You’ve just plunked down, say $3,000 for the ring and you need to pay next month’s rent. Paying another $1,000 for the band may leave you homeless and forced to live in your parent’s basement indefinitely…. If you have a year-long engagement, than you have a whole year to save up money for the wedding band. Of course, as the wedding date approaches, you will eventually have to make the purchase of the wedding band
If you do end up buying the rings in isolation, consider buying an engagement ring and wedding band that are made of the same metal (i.e. gold, white-gold, platinum, etc.) and share the same gemstones. (i.e. both the ring and wedding band have diamonds and blue sapphires). In this way, you will get a more coordinated look.
There are a number of advantages of getting the rings together as a set. First of all, engagement ring wedding band sets are designed so that the ring and band fit perfectly together. This won’t necessarily be the case if you buy the ring and band separately. I’ve seem some really bad mismatched engagement rings and wedding bands out there. Take notice of women and their ring fingers, and you will begin to see the bad combos yourself. I’m sure their guys had the best of intentions, just not the best taste and judgment in ring shopping. Second of all, if the ring and band that you purchased separately, don’t fit together nicely, it may cost a mint and be quite a hassle, to get them professionally altered so that they do.
Another advantage of buying engagement ring wedding band sets is that they are usually more cost efficient. By purchasing the rings together, you are often given a discount. Sometimes engagement ring wedding band sets even include a ring for the groom, in which case, you get all three rings at once.
Here are some additional points to consider. If you are buying engagement ring wedding band sets, think about whether the two rings must be worn together in order to look good, or if you are able to wear them separately if you desire. Some engagement ring wedding band sets were made to be worn together, so wearing them apart may look awkward. If you enjoy playing around with the look of your jewelry, and may want to wear the rings on separate fingers, make sure that you can do so by getting an engagement ring wedding band set that looks good both together and apart.

Top Ten Reasons To Propose With a Wedding Ring Set
Bridal Sets are a combination of both the engagement ring and the wedding ring or wedding band. These rings are designed to fit together and appear as one when worn by the bride. These designs can vary from very simple to highly unique with the addition of multiple diamonds or gemstones. So why choose a bridal engagement ring set rather than buying the engagement ring and the wedding ring separately? Here are the best reasons to buy a bridal engagement ring set.
First, it ensures the engagement ring and wedding band fit together. The rings are bought at the same time so they can be made to match each other and fit together seamlessly and be worn as one ring.
Second, it is more cost effective to buy them together rather than buying the rings separately. Also, many jewelers offer discounts when buying a bridal engagement ring set. Otherwise, it can be more costly to buy the rings separately.
Third, there are several types of sets to choose from. These include bridal, band, or triple sets. Your jeweler can help you pick out the right setting, metal, and diamond cut for you.
Fourth, it is the perfect alternative to traditional individual rings. Rather than choosing two different rings, a unique set makes your ring stand apart from the traditional solitaire or other rings available.
Fifth, by buying a set you only have to shop once. Instead of going through the trouble of choosing an engagement ring and then coming back to find the wedding ring, you can choose both at the same time. The jeweler can ensure that you find the right match for the set.
Sixth, if you dislike wearing more than one ring the set is a perfect choice for you. You don’t have to wear two different rings or worry about losing one. The set will show only one beautiful ring, a perfect united pair.
Seventh, the ring set is a lifetime investment. By choosing a complement to your engagement ring in a set, you choose something you can wear daily and will last throughout your lifetime.
Eighth, sets are the some of the most attractive engagement rings. With so many options to choose from, these sets can give you a very unique and stunning design that is fit for you alone.
Ninth, the ring set is the perfect complement to your relationship. It is as unique as both of you.
Finally, a bridal engagement ring set unites you together as husband and wife. The same matching design and style proclaims that you are formed together as one and your interests and love are bond together for a lifetime.

Finding the Perfect Style and Size Necklace
Necklaces come in many different styles and sizes. One reason for this is because women love versatility. They love different looks for different occasions and even for their different moods. One necklace could never handle every look and every mood a woman has or wants. So how do you go about finding the perfect style and size necklace? You just pick a certain look and a certain mood. Then you find the onethat will match.
Start by looking at what length you want. The most popular length is the 18 inched. But some women like shorter lengths (the 16th inch is still popular) and will even pair a shorter length necklace with a longer one. If you are stuck wondering what length you should buy, you could buy a necklace that has an extension chain. These extension chains allow the woman to set the length according to her own taste and she can change that length each time she wears it, if she wishes.
Now think about what type of chain you might want to buy, you can buy anything from a costume type chain, a nickel free chain, a hypoallergenic chain (yes there is a difference between hypoallergenic and nickel free), a pure gold chain, a gold covered overlay chain, a sterling silver chain to name a few types.
Of course, you can even buy necklaces that are not chains. Some are made from pearls, fake pearls, beads, shells, ribbons, leather and even string. If you are getting confused at what type of necklace you should buy, you haven’t heard anything yet. Have you stopped to think about the charm that should be dangling from the necklace?
You can find about any type of charm you want. Some of the most popular ones are: crosses, hearts, flowers, circles, circles within circles, stars, moons, peace signs, bears, cats, angels, unicorns, angels, etc.
Then, of course, you can’t forget the beautiful and somewhat expensive gemstones that hang so elegantly from necklaces. There is the universal diamond, the ruby, the topaz, the emerald, the jade, etc. Plus, there are the costume versions of the beautiful gems.
Here are some questions that might help you, if you want to buy a necklace as a gift, first think about the person who you will be receiving the necklace. Do you remember seeing her in necklaces? Can you remember what lengths she generally wears? Does she prefer gold or silver chains or maybe she is a pearl lady. Does she love crosses? Does she collect angels or bears? Does she have a passion for the night sky? The answers to these questions can lead you on the way toward that perfect necklace.
You may also want to thank about the holiday in wish you are buying the necklace. If is for a birthday present, you may want to give one that displays the recipient’s birthstone. If it is a Christmas gift, you may want to give a necklace that has a cross on it or maybe a Christmas charm. They are wonderful and very often treasured gifts for one to give. By using a little thought, you can easily find that perfect style and sized onefor every special lady on your shopping list.
